What is desert des agriates?

Desert des Agriates is a desert in the northeastern region of the island of Corsica, France. Covering an area of approximately 40,000 hectares, it is characterized by a barren, rocky landscape, with limited vegetation and water resources. It is one of the largest and most intact rugged coastal areas in Europe, stretching along the Mediterranean for around 35 miles. The area is home to a unique ecosystem and a variety of wildlife, including birds of prey, marine mammals, and reptiles. Despite its name, it is not a true desert, as it receives more rainfall than deserts in other parts of the world. However, the lack of water and vegetation makes the region inhospitable to human life and poses a significant challenge for visitors. The desert des Agriates is a popular destination for hiking, trekking, and camping, attracting adventure seekers and nature lovers from around the world. It is also known for its beautiful beaches, such as Saleccia and Loto, which can only be reached by foot or by boat.
